Workshop
description
BDSM vs Abuse
Some people look at "what it is we do" and see it as something
dangerous - something abusive - something that only "sick"
people could enjoy. Of course
we know better - but there is
always a risk within the lifestyle for abuse to occur - just like
within any other type of relationship. Mental, physical, and emotional
abuse are clear "red flags" but often they're hard to
see until it's very difficult to walk away from the situation. In
this workshop we'll deal with two different topics surrounding bdsm
and abuse.
The first will be how safe, sane, and consensual bdsm play differs
from bdsm. This is an ideal workshop for friends and family of bdsm
enthusiasts, as well as hesitant partners, or new members of our
community who might not be sure where the line begins and ends.
In the second part of this workshop, we'll be dealing with when
that line does get blurred, and when abuse DOES happen within a
bdsm relationship. We'll talk about how to recognize the signs of
abuse, either in your own relationship or in that of those you love,
and what you can do about it.
This workshop is upcoming. If you would like to teach this class
(or know someone who should), please contact us at p3gatherings
