Tender
Mercies - Aftercare
With all the
play - sometimes it's easy to forget about what comes AFTER the
play, when you're both exhausted, the toys are used, and someone
else is clamoring for the cross you just finished using at the party.
Still, aftercare can be the difference between a one-time play session,
and a long-term play relationship, or the difference between a scene
gone horribly wrong and one that has some learning possibilities.
In this workshop
we'll talk about aftercare - how to negotiate it, how to ask for
it, and the different kinds of aftercare that people offer and need.
We'll discuss how different play scenes might require different
kinds of aftercare and how aftercare can last different lengths
of time depending on the situation. We'll also talk about the "dark
side" of aftercare - people who use play just as an excuse to get
aftercare because it's what they're really after, and how aftercare
can sometimes take away from the D/s dynamic. We'll talk about realistic
expectations, and the different kinds of care that both bottoms
and tops need. We invite individuals to bring up past experiences
(discreetly) to help share both positive and negative aftercare
experiences.
This workshop is upcoming. If you would like to teach this class
